At Bayview Boating, we specialise in the sale of high-value boating vessels, jet skis, motorcycles, and marine-related products. Due to the nature, value, and condition-sensitive aspects of these items, we maintain a strict refund and returns policy as outlined below.


1. High-Value Items – No Returns or Refunds

All sales of the following items are final:

  • Boats (new and pre-owned)

  • Jet skis / personal watercraft (new and pre-owned)

  • Motorcycles / bikes

  • Trailers

  • Outboard motors and inboard engines

Once payment has been made and/or the item has been collected, delivered, registered, or launched, no refunds, returns, or exchanges will be permitted.

This policy applies regardless of reason, including but not limited to:

  • Change of mind

  • Buyer’s remorse

  • Financial circumstances

  • Incorrect selection by the customer


2. Condition & Inspection Disclaimer

  • All vessels, jet skis, and bikes are sold voetstoots (as is) unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing.

  • Customers are strongly encouraged to inspect the item thoroughly and/or request a sea trial or mechanical inspection prior to purchase.

  • By proceeding with a purchase, the customer confirms that they are satisfied with the condition, specifications, and suitability of the item.

Bayview Boating will not be held liable for defects, wear and tear, or issues identified after the sale has been completed.


3. Deposits

  • All deposits are non-refundable.

  • A deposit secures the item and removes it from the market.

  • If the customer fails to complete payment within the agreed timeframe, Bayview Boating reserves the right to retain the deposit and relist the item.


4. Electronic, Apparel & Accessory Returns

Returns may be considered only for smaller retail items such as:

  • Apparel

  • Accessories

  • Non-installed marine electronics

Conditions:

  • Item must be unused, unopened, and in original packaging

  • Return request must be made within 7 days of purchase

  • Proof of purchase is required

Approved returns may be eligible for:

  • Exchange

  • Store credit (no cash refunds)

Shipping costs are non-refundable, and return shipping is the responsibility of the customer.


5. Warranty Claims

  • Any applicable manufacturer warranties on new products are handled directly with the manufacturer or authorised service agent.

  • Bayview Boating does not provide additional warranties unless clearly stated in writing at the time of sale.

  • Pre-owned items may not carry any warranty unless explicitly specified.


6. Consumer Protection Act (CPA) Compliance

Bayview Boating complies with the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA).
Where applicable, CPA rights will be honoured strictly within the framework of the law. However, the CPA does not apply to:

  • Voetstoots private-style sales where disclosed

  • Change-of-mind purchases on custom, special-order, or high-value recreational vehicles


7. Refused Returns

Bayview Boating reserves the right to refuse any return that:

  • Does not meet the conditions stated above

  • Shows signs of use, damage, or modification

  • Is returned without prior written approval
